There are several brands of Inkjet and LaserJet printers available on the market today. The toner cartridge allows them to print quickly, efficiently, and with the best possible quality. Regardless of the type of printer you have, you may have problems relating to your toner cartridge. If you are only able to print partial graphics, your computer might not have enough memory. Try installing more memory to see if it resolves the issue.

Here are some useful troubleshooting ideas for various problems you may be experiencing. If they don’t help, contact customer service of the manufacturer of the brand of printer you own. The most important thing is to make sure the toner cartridge you are using is designed for your specific model of printer.

Inkjet printers tend to have fewer problems relating to the toner cartridge than LaserJet printers. If your Inkjet printer starts breaking up the text or you have white streaks in your graphic, your toner cartridge is almost out. You have three options for this issue. You can replace the toner cartridge with a new one, you can replace it with a refilled toner cartridge, or you can purchase a printer toner refill kit – allowing you to simply refill the toner cartridge you already have.

Other problems with the toner cartridge on Inkjet printers include grainy images and wavy print. Grainy images are the result of the print head being out of alignment. You can resolve this easily be running the print head alignment wizard on your computer. Wavy lines often indicate clogged nozzles, so the toner isn’t being distributed as it should. Run the nozzle cleaning program on your computer to resolve this issue.

LaserJet printers have more issues that can arise with the toner cartridge. One that drives many people insane to fix is small white spots on the paper because the toner is not sticking to the paper. The problem is not likely the toner cartridge in this scenario. Rather, it is the quality of the paper. It is either to thick or moist from humidity. Try another brand of paper.

If you have either replaced or refilled the toner cartridge and it is not distributing ink evenly, take the cartridge out. Gently rock it back and forth several times, then reinsert it. A vertical black line on the page or an all black page indicates the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Likewise, an all white paper also indicates the toner cartridge needs to be replaced.
